Shimla – A Dreamland to Visit

Are you planning a trip with your beloved or with your family? Then the best place for peaceful holidays is Shimla. Shimla is one of India’s most famous and beautiful hill stations. Not only today but from the time of British Shimla is the best choice of traveling as it was the former summer capital of the British in India. Presently Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh, which is a complete tourist place. Shimla is a place of wonderful experiences and is too much liked to the tourists.

Himachal Pradesh in itself is a complete tourist place but Shimla has its own importance. The words are few to define the beauty of Shimla. The healthy air and the natural beauty and the scenery of the Himalayas are in such a way that makes it remarkable and completely different from other hill stations. Shimla is the name derived from an incarnation of Goddess Kali called as Goddess Shyamala,, the deity of power and rage. However, Shimla is exactly opposite of these words, Shimla is a peaceful place that takes away all your worries and pain when you reach in its lap Nature has fully blessed this Place with an innumerable gifts of natural beauty, nice climate and rich cultural heritage.

Shimla is located towards the southern parts of Himachal Pradesh that covers the hills and mountains of Himalayas. Since the place is have a nice temperature all the year around and the maximum temperature rarely crosses 25°C during summers. So what to say about winter season? Winters are cold due as the chilled winds blows from the upper Himalayas. The snowfall starts around the December.

The two main roads – The Mall Road and The Cart Road are the best way to dwell. The Mall road runs from the far west to the lower eastern side. Second is the Cart Road which circles the southern part of Shimla. In Mall Road you can shop around and can also get the local handicrafts items. Around Cart Road the railway station and the bus and taxi stands are located. The hills in Shimla are the lofty 2476 m high Jakhu Hill and Chhota Shimla in the east and the Observatory (2,148 m) and Prospect hills (2,176 m) in the west

You can visit Shimla anytime round the year; it always seems beautiful as always. But if you want to take added advantage the monsoons when the hills turn lush green is the best time. You can view beautiful scenes there. And if you want to enjoy Snowfall then winters too make it brilliant makes it shine pristine white. You can also visit ancient temples and old churches.

You can also do sporting in Shimla as it has the only natural ice-skating rink in India. An Ice-skating Carnival is organized every by the Ice-skating Club during January.
